- Our School
Swan Reach Primary School prides itself on the high participation and completion rate of the Junior Rotary Award. The program is offered to our Grade 6 students and presentations are made to the children who complete a range of activities during their final year of primary school. The activities are designed to give children a wide range of experiences in their local community, including the opportunity to directly participate in some form of community service. The award is non- competitive and designed for children of all abilities.
The aims of the award are
- To raise the level of knowledge in children of the range of values in their community
- To give a greater understanding of what makes our communities work
- To provide an opportunity for children to experience the satisfaction of community service
- To give children an opportunity to see and understand their own potential value to the community, regardless of academic, physical or other abilities.
The award promotes
- Self worth
- Skills for life
- Positive values
- Social values
Participation in the program spans terms 2 and 3 with a formal awards evening and dinner in term 4. We really look forward to supporting our students once again this year, in this fabulous and rewarding program.
