Nestled along the beautiful Tambo River in Swan Reach, East Gippsland, our small regional primary school offers a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment where every child is known, valued and supported.
We are proud of our friendly, close-knit and culturally diverse school community, where strong relationships, personal attention and a genuine sense of belonging are at the heart of everything we do.
Guided by our school motto, ‘Respect and Empathy for All’ , we celebrate the uniqueness of every individual and foster a culture of kindness, inclusion, respect and lifelong learning.
Located approximately halfway between Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance, Swan Reach Primary School is a wonderful place to learn, grow and be part of a connected community.
Swan Reach Primary School is categorised as a BARR 3 school. Inclusion on this register is a trigger for the school to pre-emptively close on days the district is declared Code Red by the Bureau of Meteorology. Associated protocols will be enforced on these days and this school will be closed and unstaffed. Bus travel will also be cancelled. Please refer to our 'Fire Preparation Category 3' document in our policies tab for further information. Swan Reach Primary School will use uEducateUs and/or the school newsletter for communication on this matter.
School Insurance Reminder
Please be aware that the Department of Education, which includes our school, does not hold personal accident insurance for students or personal property insurance for staff and students.
If a student is injured at school or while taking part in a school activity (including offsite) and requires medical treatment, parents and carers are responsible for all of their child's medical expenses, including transport costs such as ambulance (which may include an air ambulance if considered necessary). Personal property that is lost, stolen or damaged at school or on school excursions is not the responsibility of Swan Reach Primary School or the Department, so students are reminded not to bring items of value to school or on excursions.
We encourage parents and carers to consider arranging their own accident and property insurance for students and any items of value brought to school.
